Our training courses are designed to meet a range of vocational needs. Whether you wish to develop and extend your skills for an existing career - or are looking for a change of career and require full training leading to accreditation and registration with the relevant professional bodies, Northern Guild is a long-established provider with a reputation for excellence.
CHANGE OF CAREER?
Our courses are outlined below, but with options for progression many students complete training with more than one qualification:
Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling - starting November 2011
This two year part-time evening course is accreditated by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and will enable you to begin a career change into professional counselling with adults. Available in Newcastle and now also in Stockton (subject to numbers).
Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling - starting autumn 2012
This three year part-time course (monthly weekend training) is accreditated by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and is designed to enable you to become a professional counsellor.
Diploma in Psychotherapy - starting autumn 2012
The four year part-time course (monthly weekend training) is accreditated by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and is primarily designed for those seeking to become a professionally registered psychotherapist.
Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling with Children and Young People - contact us for start dates
This three year part-time course (monthly weekend training) is accreditated by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and leads to registration with the UKCP as a psychotherapist.
Diploma in Psychotherapy with Children and Young People - contact us for start dates
This four year part-time course (monthly weekend training) is accreditated by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and leads to registration with the UKCP as a Child Psychotherapist.
MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy (working with Adults or working with Children and Young People) - starting autumn 2012
This degree is currently validated and awarded by the University of Wales. Applicants who do not qualify for direct entry can undertake our Diploma in Psychotherapy and you can join the MSc programme at the start of your third year.
