Northern Guild Psychotherapy and Counselling

Jennie McNamara and Christine Lister-Ford have many years of relevant experience as psychotherapists working with children and families, and have carried out a large number of assessments for the court in family proceedings.  They have appeared as expert witnesses before many different tribunals.

As Fellows of the UK Council for Psychotherapy and senior trainers of both adult and child therapists, they are fully informed about the latest developments and research in the field of assessment and therapy with children and families.   

They can offer assessments of children, parents and carers for family proceedings.   They are proactive in thinking about the needs of the family in the widest sense and collaborate fully with other parties to reach agreement where possible. 

This is not achievable in all cases, and both Christine and Jennie are experienced in giving evidence in court. 

The Northern Guild honours the requirement to provide objective and neutral reports and evidence to the court where needed, whilst treating the client with respect and showing concern for their psychological well-being.
