Northern Guild delivers a gold standard training and consultancy for agencies working with Children and Young People as well as offering support and consultancy to foster carers, adoptive parents and other professionals.
Over time our courses have become well respected and recognised with both a national and international reputation for excellence.
We design and deliver a programme of in-house trainings for a organisations locally, throughout the UK and in Europe.
Examples of partnerships and projects include:
- Development of Child Protection Policies and Procedures for Multi-Agency Work
- Collaboration with Health Authorities to create and implement guidelines for the employment of counsellors in primary care settings.
- Collaboration with Cleveland County Council Social Services Department to create an emergency trauma counselling service in response to traumatic events.
- Researching and implementing a pilot project to set up and provide a counselling service in a farming community during a crisis resulting in a high rate of suicides.
- Established a psychotherapy and consultancy service for Children and Young People, social workers, and foster carers in partnership with a number of fostering agencies
- Provided training programmes for foster carers in therapeutic fostering together with care agencies.
- Together with the Post Graduate school of medicine, Ryazan and Moscow we set up and supervised a post-graduate training in psychotherapy for psychiatrists and clinical psychologists. This programme has been running for over 15 years and takes place throughout all Russia. we continue to supervise and act as consultants.
