Counsellor Vacancies at Eating Distress North East

Counsellors

Post 1: 7.5 hours per week

Post 2: 15 hours per week (maternity cover)

Post 3: 5 hours per week (sessional)

Salary:            Posts 1 and 2: FTE – £28,145.88 pro rata

Post 3: £19 per hour (sessional)

We are delighted to be able to offer three part time Counselling positions to work with clients age 16+ living in the North East of England and dealing with issues associated with eating distress / disorders.

The posts have a base in EDNE’s premises in central Newcastle, and there is the opportunity for home- or blended-working. Some work from outreach bases in the Newcastle area may also be required.

Our counselling approach is integrative and person-centred. As part of our counselling team, you will contribute to the holistic approach that EDNE services take to improving the health and wellbeing of people with eating distress. We are currently operating a blended service and counselling will be provided both in person and remotely.

We offer access to training opportunities to contribute to your professional development. Regular clinical supervision will be a requirement of the posts. EDNE will contribute to the cost of accessing this for contracted roles.

Posts 1 and 3 are initially funded to September 2023, with extension subject to funding. The maternity post is initially for 9 months. Applicants may apply for one post, or with a view to combining two or more of the advertised posts, and are asked to state their preference with their application.

An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.

Applicants must be qualified counsellors / psychotherapists, with at least 1-year of post-qualification experience, registered with the BACP / UKCP or equivalent, and either accredited or working towards accreditation.
